Financial accounting

Finance processes, organisational structures and master data, with attention to how accounting connects to operational transactions. We look across the complete process—from purchasing and sales through to the financial close.

Record-to-Report (R2R)

Reliable postings, reconciliations, intercompany accounting and period-end close, bringing operational transactions together into consistent financial and management reporting.

Order-to-Cash (O2C)

Connecting sales orders, delivery, billing and receivables with revenue recognition, tax determination and collection processes, so commercial activity flows consistently into finance.

Procure-to-Pay (P2P)

Aligning purchasing, goods receipts, supplier invoices and payments with accounting requirements and controls, including GR/IR reconciliation and the treatment of costs, inventory and assets.

In ERP rollouts, we translate requirements across R2R, O2C and P2P into process designs, configuration and test scenarios, with particular attention to the handovers between operational teams and finance.

VAT & statutory reporting

Tax configuration and reporting dependencies, connecting transaction postings to jurisdiction-specific reporting requirements. Country scope must be agreed for each engagement.

Asset Accounting & IFRS 16 challenges

Asset and lease accounting require reliable data, clear responsibilities and systems that reflect the underlying business. We help connect asset acquisition, capitalisation, depreciation, transfers and retirement with day-to-day operations and financial reporting.

For IFRS 16, the challenges often begin with identifying relevant contracts and assembling complete lease data. Lease terms, renewal options, discount rates and subsequent changes need to be translated into consistent accounting processes and system requirements.

We also consider the applicable IFRS principles, local GAAP requirements and differences in tax treatment. Differences in recognition, valuation and depreciation need to be traceable across the relevant accounting views, with clear reconciliations of book-to-tax differences and adjustments supporting statutory and tax reporting.

We bring finance and IT teams together to define those requirements, configure and test the ERP solution, and establish reconciliation between lease records, Asset Accounting and the general ledger. The aim is a workable process for right-of-use assets and lease liabilities, including depreciation, interest, remeasurements and the information needed for period-end reporting and disclosures.

A practical approach

  1. Understand the business objective and responsibilities.
  2. Connect requirements to system configuration and dependencies.
  3. Verify the result through test scenarios and reconciliation.
  4. Retain useful working references and supporting materials.
